Supplemental Income through backyard Poultry
- It is important for farmers to have supplemental incomes from activities like dairy, poultry apart from income from crops. To encourage farmers to take up the income generating activity of backyard poultry 40 tribal families have been provided with Vanaraja, Giriraja breed of country fowls. Farmers are taking care of the birds and earning additional income
- Due to the efforts of landless villagers are helped with income generating activities. Backyard poultry and Goat rearing are two activities that have helped many villagers engage in gainful employment and have given good returns.
- 200 families from 15 villages are given assistance to raise backyard poultry and goats. These programs have given the much-needed relief to landless laborers and have provided a consistent income.
