Welcome to Ekalavya Foundation

Watershed and its activities are one of the major projects taken up by Ekalavya Foundation. Its main objective is to increase the ground water table as well as judicious utilization of water for agriculture purposes. This project was started in the year 2007 and was implemented in Indervelly and Utnoor Mandals of Adilabad district in a contiguous area covering 25000 acres of land with 5000 farmers as beneficiaries. Presently, watershed activities are being implemented in 5599 acres at Indervelly Mandal, Adilabad district, Telangana and 2500 acres at Minumuluru of Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh. The ongoing projects are being implemented in association with NABARD, Atlas Copco, and Container Corporation of India (CONCOR).

Components of Watershed Project:

  • Entry Point Activities to encourage people’s participation in the development of their communities.
  • Building people’s collectives and organizing the trainings for improving their capacities.
  • Implementing Natural Resource Management activities to increase the ground water table and mitigate soil erosion.
  • Promoting Productivity Enhancement methods.
  • Promotion of Livelihood Activities with special emphasis on Poorest of Poor
